Or, a shorter version can be presented before a conference or a dinner meeting in approximately 30 minutes.

Agenda for the seminar is as follows and can be tailored to work with your group.

Finding the time

·         between television shows

·         waiting  - in line at the post office, at the doctor’s office, business appointments, job interviews, for company to arrive

·         getting up earlier or going to bed later

·         avoiding unnecessary or repetitive work

·         in the car while commuting or sitting in traffic

·         expecting it to happen unexpectedly

 Using the time effectively

·         being prepared for these events by having tasks and projects to work on

·         concentrating your efforts by focusing

·         prioritizing what needs to be done in this limited time frame

What can be done in 7 minutes?

·         household tasks from emptying dishwasher to putting clothes away to sorting mail

·         helping to staying organized at work or at home

·         compressing time consuming tasks into 7 minutes – from purchasing a greeting card, writing a memo, doing housework, running a business meeting.  prioritizing importance of the task and completing within a limited time frame.

 Avoid/minimize time wasters

·         unnecessary business meetings

·         mindless games on computers, emails, avoid distractions

·         moaning about doing something rather than doing it

·         do it once, not 7 times

·         negative feelings – getting over it.  focusing on the present and not the past.  putting things into perspective.

Do it once, not 7 times

·         handle the transaction only once.  put things where they belong the first time.

·         does it have to be done at all?  what would happen if the issue were ignored?  some things do go away if ignored (doesn’t work with bills, health warnings, and the IRS)

Skill sets

·         if you spend a lot of time on repetitive projects, do you need to learn how to do it better?

·         or, do you need to hire someone to do it?
